Congressman Vern Buchanan endorses

Sarasota, Florida - Congressman Vern Buchanan of Florida's 13th District endorsed Donna Clarke for Sarasota County Tax Collector today. This endorsement is significant among Republican legislators and the Congressman's support is significant for her candidacy.

He stated, "I'm proud to endorse and support Donna Clarke for Sarasota County Tax Collector. I've always been impressed with Donna's keen intellect, fiscal discipline, and patriotic public service. She'll make an excellent public official for Sarasota County."

"I am pleased to have the support of Congressman Buchanan as we enter the critical months of the campaign. It is time for a change here in Sarasota County. Tax Collector is the only constitutional office that touches every person in the county and should thus reflect the concerns of those residents. I intend to run a more friendly, efficient and cost-effective tax collector's office without increasing taxes and fees, or compromising service standards," Donna commented.

Donna Clarke has both business and governmental experience. She served three terms as our Florida Representative for District 69 in Tallahassee. She will be running against the Democratic incumbent, Barbara Ford-Coates, who has held the position for 24 years.
